Hi There! My name is Katie Schrems and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have extensive experience working with youth and families from all backgrounds. I have worked in a variety of settings, including residential treatment for adolescents, a community mental health setting as a therapist for youth in foster care, as well as the general population and also in a substance abuse treatment facility with teens and adults. I have a Bachelors Degree from Central Michigan University in Clinical Psychology and Family Studies and a Master Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I consider myself a generalist practitioner but have focused on youth, adolescent and family therapy. I have primarily worked with early childhood complex trauma as well as areas such as anxiety, depression and self-esteem, which can manifest in adult life as well. I absolutely love working with others to help them achieve their goals and believe everyone’s path to healing is unique and important. My treatment approaches vary from a psychodynamic approach to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and always encompass a strengths-based approach. I am very excited to join such a wonderful practice and help serve our community together.

I have extensive experience working with people navigating challenging relationships in their personal life, as well as in the workplace setting. My focus in counseling extends to issues related to anxiety and depression, adjustment difficulties, couples’ distress, and stage-of-life transitions.
